FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I schedule a counseling session?

You can begin by viewing the OUR TEAM section of our website. Each counselor has a professional description page that focuses on their background and their specialities. We encourage you to read each counselors’ page and reach out to the counselor that best fits your needs at this time. To schedule your initial appointment, please contact the counselor of your choosing directly. They will guide you through the next steps.

How long will a session last?

The length of appointment may vary from counselor to counselor. Generally sessions are 45-50 minutes long, however, some counselors offer extended sessions depending on your need and their style. Group therapy sessions are between 60 minutes and 90 minutes, depending on the group. If you are interested in a more specific time window, please reach out to the counselor who best fits your needs and she can clarify expectations for you.

How long will I come to counseling?

It is hard to assess the exact length of time it will take for you to meet your goals without meeting you first. While therapy may be brief for some issues others may require more extensive time and focus. The length of time is solely dependent on your needs, your goals and the treatment plan you establish with your chosen counselor. During your initial appointment, your counselor will work to understand your needs and concerns, and she will discuss recommendations regarding the frequency of sessions, to best address your individual situation.

Payment methods vary by counselor. Options include affordable rates for private pay, as well as the ability to use both in and out of network benefits for your insurance plan.

What payment methods are available?

What does private pay mean?

Private pay means you would prefer to pay for your mental health services privately, meaning you do not wish to use your mental health benefits or you do not have mental health benefits. Private pay rates vary from counselor to counselor, based on their policies and experience. If you would like to pay privately, you are welcome to discuss options and fees with your chosen counselor.

Will my insurance pay for counseling?

If you would like to see a counselor who takes your insurance, you can reach out to her, and she will verify your coverage and benefits prior to your first appointment. Your counselor will submit claims on your behalf following each appointment. You are encouraged to be familiar with the coverage offered by your insurance plan.

Please be aware that to submit a claim on your behalf, your counselor is required to provide a diagnosis and some information about the treatment you are receiving. If choose to access your out-of-network benefits instead, your counselor can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Please contact the individual counselor you feel a connection with by email or phone to discuss your needs and logistics. Each counselor responds to emails and phone calls directly based on their own practice’s availability and policies.
